Important: Failure to comply with FBA product preparation requirements, safety requirements, and product restrictions may result in the refusal of inventory at the Amazon fulfillment center, disposal or return of inventory, blocking of future shipments to the fulfillment center, or charging for preparation or for noncompliance at the fulfillment center. Please share these requirements with your carrier or vendor to ensure that they are fully understood and adhered.
The following requirements apply to all LTL/FTL deliveries shipped to Amazon fulfillment centers.
Pallet Requirements
All non-small parcel shipments must be palletized.
When delivering stock to EU countries, use 800x1200 mm Euro/CHEP.
We only accept GMA grade B or higher, 1000x1200 mm 4-way access wood pallets or 1000x1200 mm CHEP pallets when delivering stock to UK.
-
Other pallets size can be rejected.
-
Pallet exchange is not available.
-
Pallets shipped internationally must be heat treated to ISPM-15 standard.
-
Broken or damaged pallets are not acceptable and may be rejected at the merchant’s expense.
Amazon fulfillment centers cannot currently accept ocean container deliveries. In addition, floor-loaded deliveries require exceptional authorization in advance, where Amazon's business team contacts you directly for approval and enrollment.
Ocean container and unauthorized floor-loaded shipments may be refused at the dock, returned to you at your expense or subject to applicable non-compliance fees.
Note: You can send your inventory to Amazon fulfillment centers in the US, UK, Germany, France, Italy, and Spain via ocean full container loads (FCL), ocean less than container loads (LCL), and air freight with Amazon Global Logistics as the carrier.
For more information, see Global Shipping Services.
Pallet Labeling and Preparation
Floor-loaded shipments are unacceptable unless authorised in advance by Amazon. Unauthorized floor-loaded shipments may be subject to refusal at the dock, return to the merchant at the merchant's expense, and/or applicable non-compliance fees.
-
Each pallet must be labeled with the Vendor Name, To and From address, PO numbers, Number of cartons, Pallet #____ of _____pallets in the upper right corner of one of the sides of the unitized load so that it is easily visually located.
-
All pallets must contain like items when quantities allow. All pallets of mixed but visually similar product must be labeled 'mixed merchandise' or 'mixed SKUs' (for example, regular and wide-screen editions of a VHS or DVD that are packaged in similar-looking cartons).
-
Cartons on pallets should not exceed the standard weight limit of 23 kg, unless they contain one single oversized item that exceeds 23kg. Individual cartons weighing more than 15 kg must be marked "Heavy package" (viewable from both the top and sides of each heavy-weight container). Cartons weighing more than 23 kg must be broken down into smaller shipment weights.
-
Indicate the number of box labels you will need (one per box) and print them using a laser printer. Do not use inkjet printers as barcodes may become unscannable due to the ink smudging or running.
Place each label on the outside of each box taking care to ensure that the physical contents of the box match with the carton number in the shipping plan.
-
Position the labels so they will be easily visible when unpacking the pallet at the fulfillment center and do not cross the box seam.
-
All pallets must be stretch-wrapped in clear plastic with a 'do not break stretchwrap' or 'do not break down' notification to the carrier. Pallets wrapped in black/opaque stretchwrap may be rejected.
-
Securely stretch-wrap cartons to pallets (at least 3 times each quarter). Ensure that stretch-wrap completely affixes product to the pallet, so as to prevent shifting during transit and creates stable platform for pallet stacking in transit. Stretch-wrap should be tight. NO knots are allowed for loose parts of stretch-wrap (see the picture below). Inventory should be loaded on the pallet in a stable way so when the stretch wrap is removed inventory will not easily fall over but remain stable on the pallet.

-
Neither point-of-sale containers nor pallet-sized boxes / gaylords must be used for shipping.

-
Pallets must not exceed 180 cm in height when single-stacked. Double stacked pallets: 2.7 meters for DE/CEE and TR, and 3.0 meters for UK, FR, IT and ES (including the height of the pallet). FCs which are accepting double stacking deliveries are listed in FC Specifics table, please see EU FCs addresses and delivery specificities prior to shipping items.
-
Total weight of a pallet must not exceed 500 kg.
-
All Amazon fulfillment centers accept double-stacked pallets provided they are safe to load and unload and do not cause product damage during transit.
-
There must be a minimum of 30 cm clearance between the top of the pallets and the roof of the vehicle, and a minimum of 30 cm clearance between the back of the last pallet and the rear of the vehicle.
Bill of Lading
When shipping two or more orders from the same pick-up location to the same Amazon fulfilment center, and the desired delivery date is the same but the orders are for different seller accounts, you can consolidate the orders in one shipment but you must create a separate Bill of Lading for each order.
-
Bill of Lading must reference all Amazon Reference IDs (POs) contained in the shipment. Amazon Reference IDs are found on the View an Existing Shipment page.
-
Bill of Lading must include carton and pallet quantities per shipment.
-
Whenever possible, the merchant should include the Bill of Lading number on the carton or pallet label. This allows for quick freight verification upon delivery at an Amazon fulfillment center.
-
Do not combine Amazon and other customers' orders in the same shipment.
-
Original Bill of Lading information must be made available to the carrier in order for the carrier to arrange advanced delivery appointment.
Schedule Delivery Appointments
-
For every delivery to Amazon fulfillment centers, the seller or the carrier are required to request a delivery appointment no less than 24 hours ahead.
