Upload inventory using the Inventory Loader

To download the Inventory Loader, click here.

The Inventory Loader lets you do the following:

  • Upload thousands of listings in a single file for matching against existing product pages on Amazon
  • Keep your listings up-to-date by modifying existing products
  • Add new inventory
  • Delete or "zero" inventory quantities for unavailable products
  • Purge and replace all listings

To use the page matching features of Inventory Loader, you must provide a product identifier and specific information about your offer. You can use a SKU and selected listing data when modifying existing listings.

Because Inventory Loader cannot be used to create new product detail pages, you do not need to provide detailed product data. A single Inventory Loader file can be used to upload or modify listings in multiple product categories at the same time.

Inventory Loader or Listing Loader

Prepare your Inventory Loader file

There are four basic steps to use the Inventory Loader file template:

  1. Download the Inventory Loader file template.
  2. On the InventoryLoaderTemplate tab, enter a SKU, product identifier, and listing data for the products you want to offer for sale. You can manually enter listing details one by one, or if you have macros enabled, you can import an existing file that includes your listing information by using the Import File macro.
  3. Verify the information you entered. If you have macros enabled, you can automate this process by clicking Validate from the file menu. The macro checks for data completeness and greatly reduces upload failures due to input errors.
  4. Use the Upload File macro from the file menu and enter your seller account email and password.
Note: If you don’t have macros enabled, save the template as a text (.txt) file, and upload it by using the Upload Products & Inventory tool.

Items shipped by Amazon: Please do not enter an amount. This field does not apply to products shipped by Amazon. Please enter instead a valid value in the "fulfillment-center-id" field. Please see the "Data Definitions" tab for the Inventory Loader file for details.

This field is required if values have been entered in the "product-id" field.

add-delete

Indicate with an "a" those listings you wish to update/add to your current inventory. Indicate with a "d" those listings you wish to close in your current inventory. The listings will remain in the system, retaining listing details.

Indicate with an "x" only those listings which you wish to completely delete from your current inventory. All product information for these listings will be completely removed, and cannot be recovered once removed. It is recommended that you not delete your listings, but close them instead, so that the data will be retained. If no value is provided for this field, the record will be applied as an update/add.
