Amazon limits the addition of new sellers in certain categories to ensure a high level of quality so that customers are able to buy with confidence from all sellers on Amazon. In order to sell foods under the Seller Fulfilled Prime program, you will have to meet the requirements listed below. While our site-wide selling guidelines still apply, please note the additional requirements for this program.
Missing, incorrect, or incomplete information may lead to suspension of your listings or account.
GFSI stands for “Global Food Safety Initiative“, for more information please see: https://www.mygfsi.com/about-us/about-gfsi/what-is-gfsi.html. On this page, “GFSI Certificates” means any certificates recognized by the GFSI; this includes but is not limited to BRC (“British Retail Consortium”) and IFS (“International Featured Standard”) food certifications.
On top of “GFSI certificates”, Amazon also accepts proof of compliance with the “IFS Global Markets Food” and “BRC Global Markets” standards, that target more specifically small food businesses and constitutes a step towards the IFS and BRC Food standards respectively.
All food businesses have at least one standard that can apply to them, including but not limited to producers, manufacturers, distributors, and traders.
If someone in your business is qualified in food safety/quality, you may want to include them in your decision making. Each standard under the GFSI has its own requirements, that may be specific to certain business operations. The detail of the requirements are available on the individual standards websites, which you can access clicking here.
While Amazon cannot advise you which standard or control body you should work with, we have compiled a non-exhaustive list of control bodies operating in France, who you should contact if you have any questions about certification. See below.
