In which currency do we receive the money from the sales we make?

We are a US company with a US account and we want to sell in France and Germany. In which currency do we receive the money from the sales we make?

you sell in euro so your amount transfert will be in euro but you will receive your money in dollar ( rate on date of bank transfer not based on sell date ).

Thanks for your question as it is a very interesting topic.

If your customers pay on Amazon France & Germany websites, they will be paying for the products in local currency, therefore in euros. Your sales statements for those stores will also be in euros.

Unfortunately, you cannot choose in which currency you will be paid. Amazon will pay you in the home currency where your bank account is located. Hence if the bank you use to receive those payments is located in the US, Amazon will pay you in USD.

Please be aware that in that case, Amazon will charge you fees to change euros to USD at the time of the transfer as per the Amazon Currency Converter for Sellers.

In regards to the exchange rate applied, it will be the one from the date of the transfer.

If it’s more interesting for you, and if it is possible to do, you might want to look into opening a EUR bank account.
